junie B. Jones is not a crook

Junie B. Jones was a theatre production for young audiences, performed at the Merle Reskin Theatre in Chicago, 2019.

As part of my costume design for the show, I created two custom prints digitally. The pencil print was designed in reference to a number two pencil and ruled paper, evoking the sense of cheery orderliness embodied by the teacher character. This actor was also cast as Junie B.’s mother, another warm but serious authority figure, also in a geometric print, contrasting with the chaotic spunk of the kid characters’ looks.

The textiles were printed using Spoonflower and built into custom pieces.
